*** FAMILY HISTORY
***
|
|
Thomas McCall was a shepherd at Inverlair
farm, Scotland, and quite well known to the ALLANS.
There is an oral story that Thomas McCALL sent 20
pounds to Andrew ALLAN in Scotland, asking him to
"find him a wife". He said, "Australian girls are
all right, but they can't make butter". Canny Scot
Andrew Allan used the money to help pay for the
family fare out to Australia in 1860. Once in
Australia, he was a sheep dealer at Redbank.
Isabella (Allan) died of tuberculosis in 1868.
