Andrew ALLAN was the 3rd son of Richard
ALLAN and Agnes ALLAN, born in 1852 in Melrose
Parish. He was a shepherd. He lived with his
parents at "Ellemford', Longformacus Parish,
(1871), and "Harehead" , Innerwick Parish, (1879).
He married in 1879 at Chirnside. He had at least 6
children . His mother resided at "Greenburn" at the
time of her death in 1886, and Andrew ALLAN
dedicated a monument stone in Cranshaws churchyard
which included both his parents and his brother
Richard ALLAN. This ALLAN branch resided at
"Ferneylea" in the Oldhamstocks parish of East
Lothian from 1890 to 1900. As of 1998 they are
untraced.
