"The Land of the Lyre Bird" first published in 1920 and re-published in 1966 by The Shire of Korumburra for the South Gippsland Development League.

"They were not featherbed men - A History of Mardan South" written by Narelle Coulter to commemorate the centenial of the Mardan South Primary School. Published by South Gippsland Publishing Company - Foster 1992.

DEDICATION

This Historical Record is published as a dedication to the Generations of Allan's that, through sheer determination and dedication, have made the farm known as "INVERLAIR" located at 12 Nichol's Road, Mardan South, via Leongatha, Victoria, Australia what it is today.

Firstly to my Grandparents, Alexander and Mary Matilda Allan (McKinnon) and his brother Andrew.

 To my father John McKinnon Allan, who worked the farm from an early age, and my mother Irma Enid (Hobson.)

To my Uncle Richard (Rix) and his wife Frances (McCartin) who were co-workers and the next generation to farm this property.

 To my brother, John Barrie Allan, who also started working the farm from an early age His wife Sue () and daughter Tanya who continue to share in this venture.

Also to my cousin, Alex Allan and Lynette (Burge) who, until recently, farmed the northern end of Inverlair after the farm was divided.
